On January 2, Brian and I got to the hospital and got settled in. I was induced and started on my pitocin drip throughout the night. At 1:30 am, I got my epidural and was finally able to sleep. The doctor came in the morning and broke my water. We were all expecting the process to go quicker than it did but it was slow and steady. I dilated a cm an hour. Once I was at a 9 1/2, the nurse had me push to get the rest of the effaced and dilated, which worked but nothing else happened after that. After pushing for almost 2 hrs. the doctor finally came in. Jaxon's head was turned sideways and had the Dr. not gone and literally turn his head, the pushing would have done no good. After he did that, the baby came out in two pushes. We were all relieved and excited that Jaxon was finally here!
