Growing Kids God's Way

So our church is having a parenting class called, Growing Kids God's Way. I missed the first class but made it to the one tonight. It was amazing! It was exactly what I needed to hear. As parents, there is so much information that sounds like good information and may be. But I think as christians, in society today, we have to be careful to what and who we listen to. I have heard great ways to disipline or teach children but it really hasn't been faith-based or biblical. This study really put parenthood into perspective. I can't wait for the next class!

Here are a few thoughts:

The best gift you can give your kids is your love for each other as husband and wife.

The Lord completed "family" when he brought man and wife together. Children are and expansion of your family.

Children need to see a tangible kind of love between their parents.

Have "couch time" with your spouse for 15 minutes so your children can see that you and your spouse love each other.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone's new year was just what you hoped for it to be. We spent ours with a few of our friends at our house. It was a good time for catching up and relaxing before another year begins. I am truly blessed to have friends that you can be yourself around. It makes the times more enjoyable! We are excited for the new year and what it brings with it. We are hoping for renewal, new life, and changes where changes need to be made. Here are a few pictures of our New Year's celebration!
