Fourth of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We quickly decided to head to Lake Lanier's beach and water park. Ella woke up at 6:30 am and told me, "Mommy, I'm ready to go to the beach!" To say the least, she was very excited about going. Brian's parents and sister's family came as well. We headed down and got a hotel room and took it easy. We watched a fireworks show from our window of the hotel room after eating an amazing dinner at a Japanese restaurant. The kids went crazy at the fireworks clapping a screaming after each one exploded into a bunch of colors. The kids were a little unsure of the fire as the man cooked our food in front of us for dinner but it really kept their attention while we ate. It was one of the more pleasurable experiences at a restaurant.

While we were at the park the next day, the kids had a wonderful time swimming in the lake and playing in the "baby pool" or the kiddie water park. Ella and Ava disliked the fact that there was water spraying out over their heads so they avoided those areas. Ava loved the wiggle wave area which was pretty much just a shallow pool. Ella found a "slip and slide" that she spent most of her time at. All the kids loved spending time playing with their Gramma and Grampa in the lake and kiddie water park. It is something we will definitely do again and make into a long weekend trip!

  1. Wish we'd have known about all the fun plans. Maybe we'd have come over then instead of on our upcoming trip!
